Terminal Operations
Service Profile
When providing containership transport services, container terminals provide the link between marine side and land side transport. “K” Line has four exclusive terminals in Japan, two terminals in the United States operated by group companies and one terminal in Europe operated jointly with alliance partners. Information systems are employed at these terminals to automate operations for higher efficiency.
Container Terminals in Japan
“K” Line has been enhancing the functions of its terminal operation system since its introduction in 1972. We began operating the new Computer Automated Terminal Operation System (CATOS), which links closely to our backbone system, at our exclusive terminals in Oi (Tokyo), Honmoku (Yokohama), Nanko (Osaka) and Rokko (Kobe) in 2000. This new system facilitates the performance of efficient business, accurate terminal operations and the provision of timely information.
