We are writing to inform you that due to the fluctuation in the bunker price over recent weeks the current applicable BAF for cargo moving to South East Asia will be revised upwards from 25th February 2012.

The new levels will be USD380/20' and USD645/40' for all shipments with a b/l date on or after this date

 "K" Line wishes to advise that due to the fluctuation in the bunker price over recent weeks that the current applicable Bunker Surcharge (BAF) for cargo moving ex South East Asia to Australia will be revised from 1st January 2012.

The new levels will be USD 345/20' and USD 690/40' for all shipments with a b/l date on or after this date

Further to our announcement of 28 October, "K" Line wishes to advise it will suspend the Port Congestion Charge on shipments arriving in Sydney from mid-December.

We have moved quickly to suspend this charge so as not to impose a cost burden any longer than is absolutely necessary. However, we will continue to monitor the situation to ensure there is delivery of the improvements needed to raise service standards at the port of Sydney to a workable level.

The cessation of this charge will take effect from the below vessels :

01 Dec 11

"K" Line wishes to advise that our Documentation Fee will increase from 1st January 2012. The new level will be AUD 80 for all export or import bill of ladings processed by "K" Line (Australia).

In order to restore freight rates to a viable level "K" Line will be implementing a Rate Restoration programme from 1st January 2012 for all shipments from North East Asia to East Coast Australia. The countries to which this programme applies are China, Hong Kong, Korea and Taiwan

From this date all current dry and reefer rates will increase by USD 500/teu. This will be effective on all bills of lading issued on or after this date.

"K" Line wish to advise there is a planned Rate Restoration programme from 1st January 2012 for all shipments from South East Asia to Australia. The countries to which this programme applies are Indonesia, Malaysia, Philippines, Singapore, Thailand and Vietnam.

From this date all current dry and reefer rates will increase by USD 200/teu. This will be effective on all bills of lading issued on or after this date.

"K" Line wishes to announce it will implement a Port Congestion Charge on shipments arriving in Sydney.

Regrettably, berth congestion and poor terminal performance have reached such a critical stage that we have found it necessary to partially recover some of the considerable additional costs incurred as a result. We will maintain this charge only a long as is necessary and will do all we can to push for a return to workable service levels at Sydney terminals.

The Port Congestion charge will be set at USD 90/20' and USD 180/40' and will be effective from the following vessels:

"K" Line wishes to announce an important change to our service between East Coast of Australia and North Asia.

With effect from MOL EXPEDITOR V.053N/054S we will no longer service NAGOYA direct, and will institute instead a direct call at KAOHSIUNG.

The new port rotation will be YOK - OSA - PUS - SHA - YTN - HKG - KHH - MEL - SYD - BNE - YOK

28 Aug 11 

"K" Line wishes to advise that with effect from 1st October, 2011 we will change the basis for charging of import detention and the charges that will be applied. From this date we will move to a fixed charge per day for every day after the conclusion of free time.

The new charges will be:

GENERAL CARGO                     AUD 55/20' & AUD 110/40' per day

REEFER CARGO                       AUD 95/20' & AUD 190/40' per day

Further to the above, free time granted for REEFER containers will be reduced to seven (7) days

"K" Line wishes to advise that due to the escalating bunker costs it has become necessary to implement an EMERGENCY BUNKER SURCHARGE (EBS) for cargo moving ex North Asia to Australia covering origins of China, Hong Kong, Korea and Taiwan (but not Japan)

The EBS level will be USD 150/20' and USD 300/40' for all shipments with a b/l date on or after 15th May 2011

"K" Line wishes to advise that due to the escalating bunker costs it has become necessary to implement an EMERGENCY BUNKER SURCHARGE (EBS) for cargo moving ex South East Asia to Australia covering origins of Singapore, Thailand, Malaysia, Indonesia, Philippines and Vietnam.

The EBS level will be USD 50/20' and USD 100/40' for all shipments with a b/l date on or after 1st May 2011

The new levels will be USD 475/20' and USD 950/40' for all shipments with a b/l date on or after this date.

"K" Line wish to advise customers of an important changes to our services between East Coast Australia and North East Asia.

A number of carriers in two consortia have announced a service rationalisation plan aimed at withdrawing excess capacity from the market while still maintaining viable service levels and a comprehensive service network. This will lead to changes to our service beginning approximately February 11th 2011 for southbound and 1st March 2011 for northbound and will have effect for 6 sailings from these dates.

The above will be supplemented by additional space on another service which will include a direct Shenzhen call (Shekou). Revised schedule and terminal information will be available shortly.

"K" Line wishes to advise that due to the fluctuation in the bunker price over recent weeks that the current applicable Bunker Surcharge (BAF) for cargo moving ex Australia to South East Asia will be increased from 30th January 2011.

The new levels will be USD 235/20' and USD 405/40' for all shipments with a b/l date on or after this date.

 "K" Line wishes to advise that due to recent rises in stevedoring costs in China it is necessary to increase our China Terminal Handling Charge (THC) from 15th January 2011.

Taking effect from the above date based on sailing date at port of loading the new levels will be :

RMB 575/20' and RMB 900/40' for all general/dry containers

RMB 660/20' and RMB 1000/40' for all reefer containers

The new levels will be USD 425/20' and USD 850/40' for all shipments with a b/l date on or after this date

For shipments to Taiwan the effective date will be 25th December 2010

"K" Line wishes to advise that export cargo receivals for our ESACO-S service at DP WORLD Port Botany have changed, and will now commence on Friday's and close at 2200hrs on Tuesday's

This change takes effect from XUTRA BHUM V.1234

 "K" Line wishes to advise that as a result of the imposition of a Infrastructure Levy in Fremantle it has been necessary to increase our Port Service Charge (PSC) on import containers.

As from 1st October 2010 the new charge will be $101.75/20' and $188.50/40' on all imports into Fremantle

 "K" Line wishes to advise that due to the fluctuation in the bunker price over recent weeks that the current applicable Bunker Surcharge (BAF) for cargo moving ex South East Asia to Australia will be revised from 1st October 2010.

The new levels will be USD 540/20' and USD 1080/40' for all shipments with a b/l date on or after this date

In order to restore freight rates to a viable level "K" Line will be implementing a Rate Restoration programme from 15th September 2010 for all shipments from North East Asia to Australia.

From this date all current dry and reefer rates will increase by $250/teu. This will be effective on all bills of lading issued on or after this date.

"K" Line wishes to advise that a Peak Season Surcharge (PSS) will be introduced from 1st September 2010 on all shipments originating from Japan, Korea, China, Hong Kong and Taiwan into Australia.

The level of the PSS will be $300/teu for all shipments from this date.

"K" Line wishes to advise that as a result of recently announced increases in depot charges in Brisbane it has been forced to review its Port Service Charge (PSC) for import containers into Brisbane. As of 1st May 2010 the new charges will be:

AUD   94.75 (20' Reefer)

AUD 164.50 (40' Reefer)

These new charges will be implemented from the first vessels arriving in Brisbane on or after that date
